General Conditions of Entry
Data Protection and Confidentiality
A bib number is personal and it is the entrant’s responsibility to enter correct personal information. The unauthorised use of a bib number can and will result in disqualification. It is possible to transfer an entry to a different person.
Sparta reserves the right to publish the entrant’s name, club affiliation, country of origin, company, date of birth, and nationality on bib numbers and in the list of results. The organisers store your personal data safely and it will never be passed on or sold to a third party, except in anonymised form for statistics purposes. E-mails and mobile numbers will be used solely to issue important entrant information unless otherwise explicitely agreed upon. Since the information, which is sent out in emails is considered requisite for the organisation of the event, it is not possible to unsubscribe to these emails. It is not mandatory to enter a mobile number. If the entrant no longer wants to receive SMS text messages, he or she can delete the mobile number from the entrant profile at any time.
Use of Media Material
Photos, footage, interviews, and similar media material in which the entrants appear in Copenhagen Marathon can subsequently be used freely by the organisers, partners and sponsors, including for marketing purposes. All printed and digital photos on websites, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are subject to copyright ownership and may not under any circumstances be used for marketing or commercial purposes unless specifically agreed upon in advance. Official press photos, which are made available in the Media Package, can be used freely when referring to Copenhagen Marathon. For permission to use photos, please contact the organisers.

Conditions of Payment
Confirmation of purchase
Immediately after submitting your registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail with a receipt. If you do not receive this e-mail or if it contains errors or omissions, please contact customer service or log into your personal entrant profile to update your participant data. It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure that the data entered in his/her entrant profile is up to date at any time or to inform the organisers in case of any changes.
Prices, Handling Charge, and Payment Methods
Starting fees are exempt from VAT in accordance with the Danish legislation on amateur sports’ exemption from VAT. Sparta Athletics and Running will charge a handling fee of DKK 20 (VAT included) per entrant. Payment methods include debit card, Visa debit, VISA, Euro Mastercard, VISA Electron, Diners Club, MobilePay Online, and Maestro.
Online Payment Security
The payment system is secured against identity theft with a so-called TLS solution which is a system that encrypts all your bank card information. This means that neither we nor anyone else (with the exception of Nets and Bambora) have access to your bank card information. Furthermore, the TLS-system ensures that data between your browser and our server cannot change.
DIBS manages the payment module. You have the option to decline payment once you receive your payments statements and you are not liable if you are the victim of bank card fraud in an internet store if its payment system uses a TLS-certificate.
Product Liability, Right of Cancellation, and Reimbursement
Pursuant to the Danish law on consumer protection in e-business, the organisers are responsible for product liability. According to the law on e-business, the entrant (the buyer) has no right of cancellation since the agreement does not include recreational leisure time activities.
A transfer must be conducted through the entrant’s online profile, which costs a fee of 100 DKK. The transfer is not officially completed until a valid voucher code is issued. The entrant is obliged to forward this voucher code to the person, who is to acquire the entry. Read more about entry transfer here
The unauthorized use of a bib number can lead to disqualification, and organizer can not be held responsible for fraud and abuse related to the transfer of entries, including entries that have been sold or bought via the official Facebook page.
Persuant to Danish law, it is not allowed to sell tickets for sports and culture events at a higher price than the original purchase price.
Danish and international university level students are eligible for discount. Students must present a valid student ID or other valid documentation when picking up the race packet at the Copenhagen Marathon Expo. Please note that reduced price entries cannot be transferred.
Liability and Error and Omissions
The entrant should be sufficiently fit and healthy to finish the race unaided. It is possible to enter any specific medical or health conditions on the back of the bib number for the convenience of the medical team and added safety of the participant.
By applying, the entrant automatically accepts that participation is at one’s own risk and that the organisers, their business partners, or sponsors cannot be held liable for injuries incurred or inflicted during the race unless the organisers are directly to blame.
Entrants under the age of 18 confirm that their parents or guardian have given their acceptance to the minor’s participation in the race.
Cancellation and Force Majeure (incl. Covid-19)
Organisers have the right to cancel the race due to Covid-19 restrictions or due to general circumstances caused by Covid-19. In such case, the entrant has the right to get a refund of his/her entry fee.
Organisers also have the right to cancel the race in the event of force majeure, i.e. due to circumstances or conditions on or close to race day that makes it impossible to go through with the race. Acts of force majeure include, but are not limited to enforcement or prohibition notices issued by the authorities, violent weather, major accidents, emergency situations or other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the organisers. In case the organiser has already defrayed all or a major part of the costs and expenses related to the event, the entrant is not entitled to a refund of his/her entry fee or any other expenses related to the entrant’s participation in the event.
In the event of such extraordinary incidents or circumstances, the organiser will take all possible appropriate and timely measures to minimize the costs and losses associated with the cancellation. In case the event should yield a profit, entrants will be offered a partly refund of his/her entry fee.
Possible Errors and Omissions
The organisers shall not be held liable for potential errors or omissions in regards to prices or event specifications both online and in printed material. All published information is subject to possible changes.
