The planning of this year’s Copenhagen Marathon continues. We hope that we will be able to run together, although we cannot say anything for certain yet. However, in order for our hopes and plans to become reality, we have to make a number of adjustments to ensure a corona-safe event.

On this page you will find all entrant information regarding this year’s event. Details will be continuously updated as soon as they are confirmed.

Time & place

The Copenhagen Marathon is held on Sunday, May 16, 2021, commencing at 9:30 am.
The start and finish area is relocated to Øster Allé in Copenhagen (near the national football stadion).

Entry fee

The entry fee is DKK 710 (96 EUR). The fee includes timing, medal, and a Nike T-shirt

Entry & cancellation

If the event is cancelled due to corona, participants will automatically be offered a refund or deferment to 2022. In general, deferment and refund options have been extended. Please read the FAQ for more information.

The course

This year’s Copenhagen Marathon will take place on a 14 km loop course with start and finish on Øster Allé (near the national football stadium). View the course here

Starting times & starting sections

It will be necessary to assign all participants into minor starting groups in advance. The assignment into sections will be based on the participant’s expected finish time. All entrant will therefore be asked to register an expected finish time in advance.

Each section will start offset beginning at 9:30 am.

Expo & start kit handout

Start kit including bib number and Nike T-shirt will be handed out within an expo open for all participants. The expo will be adjusted to ensure a safe pick-up.

Baggage storage

It will be possible to get your baggage stored during the race.

Pace teams

It is uncertain whether we will be able to offer any official pacing service. More information will follow.

Access to the start and finish area

Transportation to the start and finish area

The Metro will take you directly to the starting area. The nearest Metro stations, both located within 500-1,000 metres of the starting line, are:
  • Vibenhus Runddel st. (Fælledparken)
  • Trianglen st.
The S-train is also stops near the starting area. The nearest stations are:
  • Nordhavn st. (1.8 km)
  • Østerport st. (2.1 km)
  • Svanemøllen st. (1.9 km)

On-course refreshment / hydration stations

You will be offered refreshments along the entire course offering all the necessities you need. Officials will be wearing face guard and disposable gloves, and we will take all necessary measures and precautions to ensure a corona-safe event.

Finish line handouts

Medals, water, recovery supplies, etc. at the finish line will be handled with all necessary corona precautions.

Changing rooms & shower

We cannot guarantee that we are able to offer changing rooms and showers. More information will follow.
