After record-breaking interest and participation in this year’s race, Copenhagen Marathon is now revealing an exciting update: In 2026, the official expo will move to Forum Copenhagen – a significantly larger venue that offers much more space for exhibitors, guests, and the thousands of participants picking up their race bibs.
From expo to Running Fair
With 21,000 registered runners, this year’s edition of the Copenhagen Marathon became the largest marathon ever held in Denmark. And in 2026, the event is set to grow even further, with 23,000 race bibs going on sale.
“We’re excited to welcome even more runners and exhibitors. Forum Copenhagen is the ideal setting — it matches the race’s development and gives us the opportunity to create an expo of international standard,” says Jesper Lind Andersson, Commercial Director at Sparta Athletics & Running, the organization behind the Copenhagen Marathon.
And there’s a clear need for an upgrade. The Copenhagen Marathon expo, run by LØBEREN, has seen overwhelming interest — and not just from participants, Jesper Lind Andersson explains:
“This year, we saw people lining up just to get into the expo. And many of them weren’t even there to collect a race bib. People came in off the street to enjoy the special running atmosphere, take part in competitions, enjoy the entertainment, and explore unique offers on gear and equipment. In that sense, the event has evolved from an expo for runners into a running fair for all enthusiasts — and we’re absolutely thrilled about that.”
Bigger Venue, Bigger Experience
It’s not just runners who have been lining up to enter the Copenhagen Marathon expo. Many exhibitors have also been waiting for a spot — but with the move to Forum Copenhagen, there’s now room to include a wider range of partners and significantly enhance the experience for all visitors.
“We’re excited about an expo with even more exhibitors,” says Ebbe Møller Nielsen, CEO of LØBEREN, and continues:
“The facilities at Forum Copenhagen are ideal. They’ll ensure better flow, shorter queues, and more space for experiences — for exhibitors, participants, and guests dropping by in the days leading up to the race. We can’t wait to get started, and everyone can look forward to an even bigger expo experience in 2026.”
Copenhagen Marathon 2026 takes place on Sunday, May 10, 2026, and registration opens on May 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM (CET). The 2025 edition sold out in just 12 weeks, so we recommend being ready from the start.
