Join a Mini Marathon for the whole family
Give the kids an unforgettable experience with the CPH Mini Marathon 2025
CPH Mini Marathon: A ‘marathon’ for both young and old
Did you think marathons were only for adults? Not with us. At the CPH Mini Marathon on saturday May 10th, the entire family can join in the fun of running, staying active, and having a great time together.
And we promise that the children will have a day they’ll never forget as they zoom through Fælledparken. Participants can choose between two courses, depending on whether they want to run 1 km or 2 km.
Both courses are closed to traffic, marked, and staffed with people from Copenhagen Marathon, so everyone can run safely and have a great time. Of course, this will be with a race number on your stomach and a shiny medal waiting at the finish line – just like the adult marathon runners.
There will be two starts on each course. We have both a Family Run, where children and adults run together regardless of age, and a Children’s Run for slightly older kids (6-15 years old) who want to complete the distance on their own. 🏃
And of course, there will be plenty of entertainment and fun activities for the whole family throughout the day.
Please note that all participants, both children and adults, must be registered with a race number.
What is included?
Different ways to participate
Both children and adults register in the same way and at the same price.
However, adults also have the option to register as an ‘Accompanying Adult’ at a reduced price. As an accompanying adult, you can run alongside your child and use the refreshment station at the finish, but you will not receive a medal. You’ll also run with a special race bib without a timing chip, so you will not get an official time.
Please note that you must accompany a child to register as an accompanying adult, and there can only be one accompanying adult per child.
What You Get:
- Race bib
- Timing chip
- Digital certificate
- A shiny medal
- Refreshments at the start and finish area
- Fun children’s entertainment and activities throughout the event
Toilets
Toilets are located in front of the Expo at Gunnar Nu Hansens Plads and by the Eventyrkiosken on Øster Allé.
Race Bib Pickup
You can pick up your race bib for the CPH Mini Marathon on the day of the event. Bib pickup will open in the start area.
Program
We’ll meet at the starting line 10 minutes before each race begins. Here, we’ll get ready and warm up alongside our mascot, Sprinter.
If you’re signed up for one of the Family Runs, an adult is welcome to join, but everyone participating must be registered for the CPH Mini Marathon.
The Kids’ Runs, on the other hand, are for children only, but adults are, of course, more than welcome to cheer along the route and at the finish line.
In short, there are four races throughout the afternoon: a Kids’ Run and a Family Run on the 1 km course, as well as a Kids’ Run and a Family Run on the 2 km course.
Note:
As the event gets closer, we’ll share a detailed program for the day, including race times, warm-ups, and entertainment, here on the website.
