corona covid-19 Copenhagen Marathon

Posted

From 1 February 2022 there are no longer COVID-19 restrictions in Denmark. There may be certain restrictions or requirements for travelers into Denmark.

From 1 February 2022, COVID-19 is no longer categorized as a “socially critical disease“. The vast majority of the Danish population is vaccinated, and about 60% of the population has had a second booster. As a result, Denmark has the second highest vaccination rate in Europe.

Therefore, there are no longer any COVID-19 restrictions in Denmark nor for participants in the Copenhagen Marathon with regards to vaccination, testing, use of face mask, etc.

As race organizers we follow the guidelines from the Danish Health Authorities at any time – no more, no less.

In case a new wave of infection should occur, causing new restrictions or even a cancellation of the event, you can feel completely safe, as we offer a full entry fee refund in case of a cancellation due to COVID-19.

Please read our terms and conditions here

Traveling into Denmark

Even though all restrictions in Denmark are dropped, you have to be aware of restrictions that may apply for travelers into Denmark.

You are still required to use facemask in Danish airports, and please also check with your airline company if you will have to wear face masks during your flight.

In general, you do not have test or self-isolate if you can document that you are either:

  • Vaccinated no more than 270 days ago (second dose of a two dose-vaccine) or 284 days ago (with a vaccine requiring only one dose) or
  • Revaccinated or
  • Previously infected (positive PCR test more than 11 days but less than 180 days ago)
