Guide: How to hand in your refreshments

As an Elite A runner you have the opportunity to store personal refreshments at the 10 regular refreshments zones along the course.

Here you can read everything you need to know about how to hand in your personal refreshments before the race starts.

Where do I hand in my refreshments?
Elite A must hand in their personal refreshments at the tables in the Call Room – inside Sparta Hallen.

When do I hand in my bottles?
Personal refreshments must be handed in on the morning of Race Day between 07:30 – 08:00. It will NOT be possible to hand in your personal liquids outside of this time, as the boxes will be packed and delivered to the refreshments zones on the course at 8:00 am.

The Refreshment Zones

There are 10 regular refreshment zones, 5 elite extra refreshment zones and a Red Bull Sampling Zone along the Copenhagen Marathon 2025 course. You can read more about the different zones here.

The 10 Regular Refreshment Zones
The 10 general refreshment zones along the route can be used by all participants, while the 5 elite zones are exclusively reserved for Elite A and B runners.

As an elite runner you can store personal bottles at the 10 regular zones. The personal bottles will be placed on tables at the beginning of the refreshment zone.

The 5 Elite Extra Zones
In addition to the regular aid stations, there are 5 elite extra refreshment stations on the marathon route. The 5 elite extra zones can ONLY be used by elite runners and it is not possible to have personal refreshments in the elite extra zones. These zones contain:

  • Sponges
  • High5 Aqua Energy Gels Aqua Berry
  • Bottled water (0.3 liters).

Red Bull Sample Zone
At the 33,6 kilometer mark there is a Red Bull Sampling Zone. Only cups of Red Bull mixed with water are served here. It is NOT possible to store personal refreshments in the Red Bull Sampling Zone.

How do I hand in my refreshments?
  • Go to the table that corresponds to your bib number. The numbers are marked in front of the table – e.g. Bib no. 1-25.
  • On the table are 10 boxes with kilometer numbers on them. The boxes correspond to the 10 regular refreshments zones on the course. Place a bottle in the kilometer boxes where you want to have personal liquids on the route.
  • Remember the number on the blue sign at the table where you have placed your bottle. It could be ‘Elite 2’, for example. When you arrive at the refreshment zone on the course, your bottle will be ready for you at the table with the corresponding blue sign – in this case ‘Elite 2’.
  • Your personal refreshments will be placed on tables at the beginning of the refreshment zone and always on the right side of the road. There are signs 100 meters before each zone, so you are prepared.
