Registration is binding, and participants do not have the right to cancel the purchase of a race entry. The entry fee cannot be refunded for any other reason.
It is not possible to transfer your bib number to another person or transfer it to another edition of the event. The bib number is personal and valid only for the specific edition of Copenhagen Marathon.
In collaboration with MySafety, it is possible to purchase cancellation insurance when registering for Copenhagen Marathon.
A race entry may not be commercially resold or used commercially as part of package sales (i.e. sold together with other goods or services), competitions, resale activities or similar unless special permission has been granted by the Organizer.
Unauthorized use of a bib number may lead to cancellation of the bib or disqualification.
The Organizer is not responsible for misuse or fraud related to the transfer of bib numbers, including transfers facilitated through the event’s official platforms such as Facebook or Instagram.
Conditions of participation
-
Bib numbers are personal. For safety reasons, the bib number must be registered with the participant’s information so the Organizer always knows who is present on the course.
All participants must wear their bib number on the front of their body.
Participants must collect their bib number themselves during the days leading up to the race at the Expo. Closer to race day, the Organizer will inform participants about the pickup times and location.
Bib collection requires presentation of the start card sent by email before the event as well as valid photo identification.
Unauthorized use of a bib number may and will lead to disqualification.
-
Participants should be aware that Copenhagen Marathon has a net time limit of 6 hours starting from the moment the participant crosses the start line.
If the Organizer determines during the race that a participant will not be able to finish within the time limit, the Organizer has the right to remove the participant from the race.
If a participant cannot complete the race within the time limit or must withdraw for another reason, it is the participant’s own responsibility to return to the start/finish area.

All photos and videos are protected by copyright and may not be used for marketing or commercial purposes by third parties without the Organizer’s approval.

Participants may not bring harmful or dangerous objects to the event or race venues. This includes any object that could be used to harm other people or disrupt the race.
The Organizer reserves the right to carry out security checks of participants and their personal belongings if necessary to ensure the safety of others and the event.
The Organizer reserves the right to confiscate objects considered harmful and to remove individuals from the race or event venues due to inappropriate behaviour or possession of harmful objects. This also applies if the participant refuses to cooperate.
In such cases, the participant will not receive a refund of the entry fee.

Liability and Canceled race
-
By registering, participants confirm that participation is at their own risk and that neither the Organizer, partners nor sponsors can be held liable for injuries sustained by the participant or caused to others during the race.
Participants must be healthy and physically capable of completing the full distance on their own.
Participants may state special medical conditions on the back of their bib number.
-
The Organizer may cancel the race due to force majeure, meaning circumstances on race day or in the days leading up to the race that make the event impossible or unsafe to conduct, such as government orders or prohibitions, severe weather, accidents or other circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control.
The Organizer also reserves the right to cancel the race if weather conditions are considered too dangerous (strong winds, heavy rain, heatwaves or similar) to safely conduct the event without endangering participants’ health.
In all cases where the race is cancelled, participants are not entitled to a refund of the entry fee or other costs related to their registration.
However, the Organizer will, where possible, take appropriate and timely measures to minimize the financial consequences of the cancellation.
Any surplus may result in a partial refund corresponding to the surplus amount.
If the Organizer determines prior to race day that the event cannot be conducted due to force majeure or unsafe conditions, the Organizer reserves the right to postpone the event.
In the event of postponement, any surplus will not be refunded to participants.
-
The Organizer reserves the right to continuously publish and amend practical details related to the execution of the event.
This reservation applies both online on the website, social media and printed materials leading up to race day.
All important practical information and any changes will be communicated on the website and sent via email and/or SMS to participants.
It is the participant’s responsibility to stay informed about any changes.
-
When registering, participants will be asked to accept the above participant terms by ticking a checkbox.
By doing so, participants fully accept the terms, including participation at their own risk and the conditions regarding postponement and cancellation.
-
If you wish to file a complaint regarding your purchase, please contact Copenhagen Marathon at: cphmarathon@sparta.dk
You will then receive a written response from the Organizer.
If a solution cannot be found, complaints may be submitted to the Danish Center for Complaint Resolution for a fee.
